Kahana Sands (formerly the Kahana Terrace restaurant) is poolside at the Sands of Kahana condo, 4299 Lower Honoapiilani Road. Phone 808-669-5000.

Kahana Sands breakfast and lunch menus are both available from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM. There's a smaller lunch menu for the rest of the afternoon, and then dinner from 5:00 PM. You'll be sitting on a covered terrace with views of the pool and ocean. Food is very good, with prices lower than at Maui's fine-dining restaurants. This place is a surprising hidden Maui secret gem, just like its sister restaurant, Big Wave Cafe in Kihei, owned by the same chef.
