The Restaurant at the Hotel Wailea formerly known as Capische
Capische was the previous name of this restaurant, which is now called “The Restaurant at the Hotel Wailea.” This is a very expensive restaurant at the Hotel Wailea, at 555 Kaukahi Street in Wailea. Phone 808-879-2224.
The restaurant at the Hotel Wailea is very small and all tables are outside, open-air. Many of the tables are on a balcony along a wide railing, with perfect views of the ocean in the distance. The best time to go is at sunset, for the beautiful view.
The food is excellent at this restaurant formerly called Capische, but the prices are extremely high. One of the best and most popular items on the menu when it was still Capische was their mushroom risotto. The Braised Lamb Shank was also wonderful at Capische, but I have not tried these items since the change to “The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea.” There was only one fish dish on the menu, and in my opinion it was not as good as fish entrees at Maui’s other top fine-dining restaurants.
The restaurant at the Hotel Wailea is good, but I don’t think it is better than the other top restaurants on Maui, so in my opinion it is not worth the high prices they charge.
