I’m in a wheelchair.  What Maui sights and activities are accessible to me with my handicap?

ANSWER

There’s plenty to see and do on Maui that is available to you in your wheelchair. Of course, you can sit on the lanai (balcony) of your hotel or condo room and enjoy the view, but there is no need to stay there.

You won’t be able to drive your wheelchair in the sand on the beach, but many beaches have grassy areas in the sunshine that are accessible from their parking lots.  There are paved sidewalks that run alongside several beaches, including Kaʻanapali and parts of Wailea.
