     In Kapalua near the Ritz Carlton Hotel, and in Kihei.  Excellent sushi and Japanese-style foods.  Try their “Taste of Lahaina Award Winners”  such as Mango Crab Salad Hand roll with Thai Vinaigrette  or  Asian Rock Shrimp Cake with Crusty Chinese Noodles & Ginger-Lime Chili Butter & Cilantro Pesto.  Call to ask if they still have their 25% off everything special price for all food ordered between 5:30 and 6:00 PM.  (If you go for that Early Bird pricing at 5:30, avoid Sundays and Mondays, when they are extremely crowded with Maui residents getting an even bigger discount.)  More details including menu and photos at this link:

       In Kahana Gateway shopping center.  Choice of 3 or 4 different fresh fish prepared any of 4 ways, plus many more choices of seafoods and meats, in an elegant brew pub atmosphere.  The Ciopinno pasta is delicious, and my favorite fish preparation is “seven spiced.”  The early bird special is a great deal:  highly discounted entrees if you order between 5:30 and 6:00 PM.  Live music after 6:30 PM.

     In Upcountry, about half way toward the top of Haleakala.  Good salads of fresh Kula greens, Maui onion soup, great view of Maui’s central valley.
