Maui Wine Tours and Tasting – Ulapalakua Ranch in Upcountry Maui

Maui’s winery is at Maui Wine in the Ulapalakua Ranch.  This is at the south end of Upcountry, the part of Maui on the eastern slope of Haleakala volcano.  Phone 808-878-6058.

Maui Wine (formerly called Tedeschi) is open for wine tasting every day except holidays, from 10 AM to 5 PM.  But it’s best to come at either 10:30 AM or 1:30 PM when they have complimentary tours of the winery.  It takes between 60 and 90 minutes to drive from the main tourist areas of west and south Maui to the winery, or longer if you stop to see the sights along the way.  You can save a lot of driving by visiting here on the same day that you go to the Lavender Farm or to Kula Botanical Gardens since those are in the same area, on the way to Maui Wine.

About The Maui Wine Location

Maui Wine is in a beautiful setting, with huge trees and wood carvings, at about 2000 feet elevation.  The small building has rooms of historical artifacts and information, as well as a shop where you can buy their wine and souvenirs, and the tasting room.  Most of their wines are pineapple wines, but they also make some grape wines.  The road to the winery has great views looking down the southeast side of Haleakala, toward Kihei, Wailea, Makena, and the island of Molokini in the distance.  You can have lunch right across the street from the winery, at the Ulupalakua Ranch Store Grill.
