Kula Country Farms is a farmer’s market in Upcountry Kula. It is at 6240 Kula Highway (Route 37), near the junction of Kekaulike Avenue (Route 377), in Kula. It is NOT at the address sometimes listed for it at 375 Koheo Road, because that is just its office address. Phone 808-878-8381.
This is far different from any of the other farmers markets in Maui. Only at Kula Country Farms do you get a spectacular view, looking down onto the entire central valley of Maui, where you can see both Maalaea Bay and Kahului Bay. You can even see the island of Molokini and the windmills on top of the West Maui Mountains.
The farm stand store at Kula Country Farms sells a wide variety of freshly grown Maui fruits and vegetables, as well as flowers. All of these are delivered fresh every day directly from the farmer’s fields, most of which are in Upcountry, the same section of Maui where this stand is located. They also sell jams, sauces, dressings, marinades, salts, honey, and fresh bread, all made on Maui. They even have burgers, salads, and wraps made with local ingredients.
There is a children’s play area and a picnic table where you can have a picnic lunch while enjoying the view. From late February to mid-May, Kula Country Farms has you-pick strawberries. From late September through October, you can pick pumpkins from their pumpkin patch.
Here is a list of some of the fruits and vegetables you may find on your visit: acorn squash, apple banana, arugula, avocado, bok choy, romaine, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cilantro, clover, collard greens, cucumbers, daikon, dill, eggplant, green beans, ginger, green bell pepper, leaf lettuce, green onion, zucchini, parsley, jalapenos, squash, kale, blueberries, Kula onions, lemongrass, lemons, limes, pumpkin, mint, oranges, oregano, papaya, pineapple, radish, red leaf lettuce, rosemary, snow peas, basil, sweet potato, chard, and tomato.
