Food Trucks for Delicious and Sometimes Inexpensive Food in Maui

Maui Food trucks have become increasingly popular in recent years. It’s easy to see why: restaurants can be expensive in Maui, but food trucks offer an alternative that is sometimes inexpensive (depending on which one you choose), delicious, and usually has large servings. You can eat outdoors next to the truck, take it to a park for a picnic, take it back to your hotel or condo, or even eat in your car.

Some Maui food trucks park in the same places every day, while others rotate between different parts of the island. Several of them show up at the Friday Town Parties each week in Kihei, Wailuku, or Lahaina (when they’re happening). Others are at the Swap Meet in Kahului every Saturday morning. A recent trend has been to group 4 to 6 trucks in one parking lot, surrounding a few picnic tables. This gives everyone in your family more choices, so you don’t all have to get food from the same truck.

Some of the common places to find Maui food trucks (especially at lunchtime, and some also at dinner time) are:

at Kihei Station on Piikea Avenue, a block up from South Kihei Road in Kihei
on Kahului Beach Road, just north of Kaahumanu Avenue, across from the Maui Arts and Cultural Center
on the Lower Honoapiilani Road across from the Times grocery store in Honokowai (north of Lahaina)
at Kihei Marketplace on Alahele Place near South Kihei Road in Kihei
at 78 Ulupono Street up Keawe Street from the Lahaina Gateway Center in Lahaina
in a lot just past the Costco gas station on Haleakala Highway
around Big Beach in Makena (in the parking lots or street just outside those lots)
