The Restaurants

Roy’s restaurant in Kaanapali in my opinion has Maui’s best food:
Duck Lumpia, Ahi poketini, Opakapaka, Chocolate souffle (photos are low on the page)

Kimo’s is one of the most popular restaurants on Maui:
Parmesan Opakapaka, ocean view (photos are low on the page)

Cafe O’Lei has restaurants in Kihei and at the Maui Lani golf course, for great food at good prices:
Onion soup en croute, crabcakes, shrimp, opakapaka (fish) (photos are low on the page)
Linguine, Filet and Lobster tail, salad (photos are low on the page)

Tommy Bahama’s restaurant and store are in the Shops of Wailea:
Caesar salad, Ribeye steak, Dessert tray (photos are low on the page)

Pineapple Grill has views of golf course, hills and ocean:
View, Beets-Greens salad, Mahi-mahi, Pineapple-Apple Crisp (photos are low on the page)

Pacific O is in the 505 shops in Lahaina:
Quesadilla, Mac nut crusted mahi, basil seared opakapaka (photos are low on the page), 

Lahaina Coolers is the coolest restaurant in Lahaina:
Seating, Tamarind Chicken salad, Fish Tacos (photos are low on the page)

Hula Grill is the place to see and be seen on Kaanapali Beach:
Mai tai, Caesar salad with Ahi (photos are low on the page)

A good Italian restaurant in Kihei was Antonio’s:
Pasta, Pizza, and decor at Antonio’s (photos low on the page)

Nick’s Fishmarket is a beautiful restaurant with outstanding service at the Kea Lani Resort in Wailea:
Pig potstickers, Scallops, Opakapaka (fish), Caramel souffle (photos are low on the page)

Bubba Gump is a shrimp restaurant based on the movie Forrest Gump.
View, Net Catch appetizer, Fried Shrimp entree (photos are low on the page)

The Haliimaile General Store is a surprising restaurant in an old store on the way to Upcountry:
Decor, Salad, Fish, Chocolate dessert (photos are low on the page)

CJ’s Comfort Zone Deli & Diner is a casual place in Kaanapali:
Mahi-mahi dinner, Reuben sandwich, Seating, and Menu Board (photos are low on the page)

The Honokowai Okazuya is one of Maui’s best restaurant bargains. No atmosphere, but carry-out food as good as top restaurant food, for a fraction of the price.
Building, Salmon Chili Cilantro, Ono with mushrooms (photos are low on the page)

The best restaurant in the town of Lahaina is Lahaina Grill:
Caesar Salad, Maui Onion Soup, Opakapaka, Hana Road Chocolate (photos are low on the page)

For pizza with a view of the ocean and Front Street people-watching, Lahaina Pizza Company (formerly BJ’s) is the place:
Building, pizza, pizza-dilla (photos are low on the page)

You can get a meal for the whole family on a budget at Penne Pasta Cafe in Lahaina:
Garlic cheese bread, salads, pasta, roasted squash (photos are low on the page)

The Gazebo is a tiny open-air ocean-front restaurant only open for breakfast and lunch:
Building with a line, omelet, pancakes (photos are low on the page)

Lahaina Fish Co. has several fish and meat choices and a great ocean view.

Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t find a great restaurant inside of a hotel. Here’s the Humuhumunukunukuapuaʻa restaurant at the Grand Wailea:
Sunset view, tsunami drink, salad, opakapaka (photos are low on the page)

Sansei has the best sushi on Maui, and a lot of other wonderful foods too.
Sushi bar, mango crab roll,  calamari salad, fried ice cream (photos are low on the page)

Longhi’s is one of the oldest and best-known restaurants in Lahaina, now also open in Wailea.
Bread, crabcake sandwich, pasta putana, desserts (photos are low on the page)

Seascape is the restaurant at the Maui Ocean Center (Aquarium):

Cafe Des Amis is a tiny casual place in Paia with very tasty crepes of all varieties:
Menu board, chicken crepe, dessert crepe (photos are low on the page)

Seahouse is in a beautiful setting on Napili Bay
Spinach salad, crispy sushi, mahi-mahi, chocolate toffee mousse cake (photos are low on the page)

Casanova is Maui’s best Italian restaurant.
Decor, pasta, pizza, veal (photos are low on the page)

Leilani’s is on the ocean at Whalers Village:
Rack of lamb, snapper, hula pie (photos are low on the page)

Charley’s was famous for breakfasts in Paia but also serves lunch and dinner:
Eggs Benedict, hamburger, fish sandwich (photos are low on the page)

Maui Fish & Pasta is one of the several restaurants in Whalers Village shopping center on Kaanapali Beach:
Chicken wings, Opakapaka, Wok’d chicken, pineapple, and bananas Foster (photos are low on the page)
