9/20/2021: If a few of these pages look a little wonky, I'm sorry!  I just rebuilt the site and have over 600 pages to go through for final fixes.

Maui Motown Prom was a fundraiser put on by Jungle to Jungle at the Maui Tropical Plantation on January 26, 2013, from 7 PM to 11 PM.

This one-time vintage-themed event featured music from the 1950’s and 1960’s.  Local education non-profit, Jungle to Jungle, is throwing an evening of music, dancing and performance to raise funds for their 2013-2014 middle-school curriculum.  Entertainment for the evening will consist of two DJs playing Motown hits and themed live performances featuring Danielle Delauney, Shea Derrick, and others. Mana’o Radio’s Kathy Collins will be emceeing the event. Guests will be invited to participate in a couple’s dance competition and the evening will culminate in the crowning of a King and Queen of the event, voted on by the other attendees. A photographer will offer couples photos at a booth in the corner of the space.  The admission fee wass $25.  Food will be available for purchase.

This event is to raise funds for Maui middle schools.  The Jungle to Jungle Project is an interactive science and technology program that introduces international discovery and biology by utilizing the latest digital tools and social media. Students become explorers as they share in the real-time adventures of educators visiting some of the world’s most remote places and meeting foreign students through live video uplink.   The project is a 501(c)3 based in Maui.
