Wailea Residence Inn by Marriott is a hotel designed for longer stays. It is at 75 Wailea Ike Drive, phone 808-891-7460.
Wailea Residence Inn is not on a beach, but is instead uphill, on a road that leads above the large Shops at Wailea shopping center, and below the smaller Wailea Gateway shopping center. This makes it a convenient 2-minute drive to the restaurants in both of those centers, such as Monkeypod Kitchen, Pint & Cork, Pita Paradise, and Longhi’s Wailea. All beaches in Hawaii are public, so even though this hotel does not have its own beach, there are good beaches that you can use nearby. Two that are only a 5 minute drive away are Makapu Beach and Ulua Beach.
This hotel is a part of the Marriott chain that is marketed for “extended stays.” But you can stay here for as short or as long as you like. The rooms are larger than at many other hotels, and do include a kitchen, which is something more commonly found in a condo instead of in a hotel. There are studios and one or two-bedroom suites. Wailea Residence Inn also gives guests a free hot buffet breakfast. They have a free shuttle service within the Wailea area, but I still recommend that everyone rent a car for your entire time on Maui, in order to get around the island and see the sights that are far from your hotel.
