Maui Chocolate Tour

Maui Chocolate Farm Tour

Maui Chocolate Tour is an activity in the Upcountry farming part of Maui. Here you will see how chocolate gets from beans in pods on a cacao tree, to be transformed into those chocolate candies that you love to eat.

Cacao trees grow mostly in the tropics.  But the Kupaa organic vegetable, coffee, and cacao farm on the slopes of Haleakala have managed to grow these trees on Maui. The farm is at the 1900 foot elevation in Kula.

On the two-hour Maui Chocolate Tour, you will see the cacao trees, the beans that come out of the pods, and the many steps involved in harvesting, cleaning, roasting, grinding, mixing, and adding ingredients to turn these dry bitter beans into smooth sweet chocolate candy.  Sample tastings of several kinds of chocolate top-off the tour.
