Suggested WEST Maui condos in my order
of preference:
Kaanapali Alii (808) 667-1400
The Alii is my favorite Maui condo because it is the best condo on Kaanapali
Beach, my favorite part of Maui. Each condo unit is a large luxury suite
(one or two bedrooms). These beautiful condos are expensive, but you get
about 1500 square feet in a one-bedroom and about 1800 square feet in a
two-bedroom condo. Air conditioned. Opened in 1982. 264 units in four 11-story buildings.

Kaanapali Alii
Whaler (808) 661-4861
The Whaler is less luxurious than the Alii (above) so less expensive, but
it’s in the same great location in the middle of Kaanapali Beach. Adjacent
to Whalers Village shopping center. Air
conditioned. Opened in 1976. 360 units in two
12-story buildings. For photos and more
information, click on this link:
The Whaler
Kaanapali Shores (808) 667-2211
Unlike most condos, Kaanapali Shores has shops and a restaurant on the
premises. Its just as good a condo as the above two, but is less expensive
because it is on a beach that is about two miles north of the main Kaanapali
Beach resort strip. A grocery store and a couple small restaurants are
across the street. Air conditioned. Opened in 1980. 464 units in one 9-story and one
4-story building. For photos and more
information, click on this link:
Kaanapali Shores
Mahana (808) 661-8751
The Mahana is one of the very few condo buildings where every room is
oceanfront, so views are fabulous. There are studios, one-bedroom and
two-bedroom condos, all with full kitchens and a washer-dryer in the unit.
Beach and pool are small and simple. About an eight-minute drive from the main
Kaanapali resort area or 12 minutes from Lahaina.
Air conditioned. Built in 1975. 216 units
in two 12-story buildings.
Mahana
Maui Kaanapali Villas (808) 667-7791
This is a way to spend less money than the Alii or Whaler
and still be in a condo within walking distance of Kaanapali Beach.
Sort of. This condo-hotel
is on the other side of the Black Rock hill from the main Kaanapali Beach
hotels, so a much longer walk to all of the resorts, shopping and
restaurants. But its beach is less crowded, and they have both hotel rooms
and condo units available. Built in 1963, so it’s much older than the more
expensive resorts like the Hyatt. The rooms and lobby are not quite as nice
as the similarly-aged Kaanapali Beach Hotel. 266 rooms.

Royal Kahana (808) 669-5911

center stores and restaurants. Air conditioned.

building. For photos and more information, click on
