Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar Maui

Sansei in Kapalua

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar is Maui's best-known sushi restaurant. But it has a lot more than sushi, with numerous delicious and innovative foods that have nothing to do with sushi. Sansei Maui has two locations, Sansei Kapalua and Sansei Kihei. Phone 669-6286 for the Kapalua restaurant or 879-0004 for the one in Kihei.

Sansei has won several awards for its outstanding food preparations. Taste of Lahaina Award winning dishes include Asian Shrimp Cake, Mango Crab Salad Roll, Japanese Calamari Salad, and Dungenous Crab Ramen with Asian Truffle Broth. The menu has long lists of appetizers, tapas, soups, salads, noodles, veggies, entrees and desserts. See below for some specific Sansei menu items as well as photos.

Sansei usually has Early Bird discounts, with 25% off most foods ordered from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM. But this can vary, so be sure to call ahead to ask. And the line can be long for those Early Birds, so arrive well ahead of time to get in line. (Don't go for Early Bird on Sunday and Monday, when they are more crowded because of a bigger discount for people who live on Maui.)

Whether you are looking for excellent sushi or for unusual seafood and meat and vegetable preparations, Sansei is a restaurant that I highly recommend.

Sansei Kapalua and Sansei Kihei occasionally changes a few items on their menu, so the following items may not all be available on the day you go. But here are examples of some of the menu choices as of 2007. (I'm sorry, but I can't include prices because they change.)
