Hula Grill Hula Grill is the best restaurant in the Whalers Village shopping center in the middle of Kaanapali Beach. It has a casual section on sand called the "Barefoot Bar" (lunch and dinner) and a fine-dining section called the "Dining Room" (dinner only, but sometimes open for overflow seating at lunch). Phone 808-667-6636. Hula Grill menu includes fresh fish and other choices with innovative preparations. The location is great for people-watching, as the tourists walk by on the Kaanapali Beach sidewalk. Tables are open-air with beautiful views of the ocean, especially at sunset. Prices are lower in the Barefoot Bar part of the restaurant, which is on a sandy floor. Reservations are needed at dinner in the Dining Room section.
