Tropical Gardens of Maui
Flowers and Plants Garden
Beautiful Gardens and Export Plant Nursery
This garden CLOSED to public tours in 2014. They now only do
in Central Maui
You didn't have to drive the Road to Hana, or even go all the way to Upcountry,
to see large beautiful gardens. Tropical Gardens of Maui is
located just a few minutes drive from the city of Wailuku, in
Valley. It is at 200 Iao Valley Road, phone 808-244-3085.
Here's a map you can
zoom in on to see where this is.
Since 1987, this 4 acre garden has been full of lush plants and flowers,
from tropical climates around the world. They are no longer open
to the public, but previously for a small admission fee, you could take a self-guided 30 to 45 minute walking tour. They
gave you a brochure with information about the plants, and many of
the plants are labeled in the garden. It's a beautiful peaceful
quiet uncrowded place, away from the touristy resorts and shops.
They also have plants available for sale, and approved for you to take
with you or to ship back to the mainland.
The Tropical Gardens of Maui are owned and maintained with Aloha by
Bernie and Andy (Harry) Graham, and their family.
Wear mosquito repellant.
