Sheraton Maui Resort on
Kaanapali BeachThe Sheraton Maui is
at Black Rock, the famous volcanic hill at the north end of Kaanapali Beach.
This location provides a cove where the water is shallower and calmer than
in other places, so it's the best snorkeling spot in Kaanapali. It is
also within walking distance of other Kaanapali Resort hotels, restaurants
and shopping.
The Sheraton was completely rebuilt (not just
remodeled) in 1996, so it's the newest hotel on Kaanapali Beach. It
has several large pools, including a children's play pool and water slides.
The 510 rooms at the Sheraton Maui are spread out over
six buildings. Room sizes are quite variable, with the smallest rooms
having only an armoire instead of a closet and having very small lanais.
But the larger rooms do have closets and good-size lanais.
You can get 35% off the Rack Rate at the Sheraton by
joining Starwood Preferred Guest (free) at spg.com. But you still need
to compare, because sometimes you can get an even bigger discount by
shopping around and asking about specials and discounts. And the
Sheraton Maui tacks on extra charges, like a per-night "Resort Fee" or high
parking fees or steep charges to put a rollaway bed in your room.

For someplace a little quieter than the Hyatt or
Westin or Marriott, the Sheraton Maui Resort is a good choice.
