Royal Lahaina Resort
HotelThe Royal Lahaina Resort is on
a beautiful beach in Kaanapali. It's not on the main strip from the
Sheraton to the Hyatt, but is immediately north of that section, on the
other side of Black Rock from the Sheraton.
Royal Lahaina Hotel was the first hotel built on
Kaanapali Beach, in 1962. It had started to look old, but all of the
rooms in the main 12-story building were completely rebuilt in 2006 and now
they are beautiful. The surrounding smaller buildings of the hotel are
still in poor condition, but they will be torn down and replaced over the
next three years. The grounds will also have extensive renovations by
about 2010, including new pools and landscaping.

The Royal Lahaina Resort is not as close to the
other resort hotels and Whalers Village shopping center as are the other
Kaanapali Hotels (Hyatt, Marriott, Westin, Sheraton), but it's still in easy
walking distance.
