Fairmont Kea Lani Hotel Maui

The Fairmont Kea Lani is an all-suites hotel in Wailea, the luxury section of South Maui.  Since every room has a living room as well as a bedroom and a large bathroom, at 832 square feet these are among the largest hotel rooms on Maui.  Phone (808) 875-4100.

Kea Lani means "white heaven" and the Fairmont Kea Lani building is bright white with unusual architecture that reminds me of a Moroccan or Mediterranean feel.  The grounds are beautiful, but not as expansive as the nearby Grand Wailea or Four Seasons.  The beach is smaller and more rocky than at those other two luxury Wailea resort hotels.

My favorite restaurant at any Wailea hotel is Nick's Fishmarket in the Fairmont Kea Lani.  There's not much of a view, but the food and service are excellent.  Less expensive and less fancy is Cafe Ciao, where the food is also tops.  There's also Kea Lani restaurant for breakfast and Polo Beach Grille with a swim-up bar.
