Hyatt Regency Maui on
Kaanapali BeachThe Hyatt is my
favorite place to stay on Maui. It's the best hotel on Kaanapali
Beach, my favorite Maui location.
Why is Kaanapali my favorite part of Maui on which to
stay? Because it contains several big resort hotels, all within easy
walking distance of each other and of restaurants, Whalers Village shopping
center, snorkeling and all beach activities. Plus it's just a
10-minute drive from Lahaina, a great little tourist town with shopping,
restaurants and a boat harbor from which you can depart on many types of
boat excursions (fishing, sailing, whale-watching, snorkeling, dinner
cruises).
Why is the Hyatt my favorite Kaanapali Hotel? It
has gorgeous lobbies filled with flowers, art and rare birds (even
penguins). It has gorgeous grounds with large pools that include
waterfalls, water slide, children's play area, hot tub, plus more
interesting birds (flamingos, swans, African Crowned Cranes). It has
lots of great shops for clothing, quilts, jewelry, flowers, souvenirs and
more (even a Macy's). At 815 rooms, it's the largest hotel on Maui. It has four wonderful restaurants:
Swan
Court (Sonz), Cascades,
Spats and Pavillion. There are even tours of
the plants and birds, and an astronomy tour at night on the roof.
